Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 310, 1865

At a regular town meeting held at the Eagle Hotel in the town of DeKalb, County of DeKalb and State of Illinois on the 4th day of April A.D. 1865.  The following named persons received the number of votes annexed to their respective names for the following offices to wit

Thomas M. Hopkins received one hundred and seventy one votes for Supervisor

Timothy Richardson received one hundred and twelve votes for Supervisor

Edward Hamlin received one hundred and five votes for Town Clerk

E. A. Porter received one hundred and seventy seven votes for Town Clerk

Ira Penny received two hundred and eighty five votes for Assessor

Norris Sweet received one hundred and thirty one votes for Collector

N .W. Wadsworth received one hundred and fifty five votes for Collector

Elias Hewlet received two hundred and eighty seven votes for Road Commissioner of Highways

David Price received two hundred and eighty one votes for Poor Master

We the undersigned the Moderator and Clerks of this election do hereby certify that the above is a correct poll list and result of the election of town offices at the town meeting held at the Eagle Hotel this 4th day of April A.D. 1865.
