At the annual town meeting of the town of DeKalb held Apr 6th 1858 the following named persons received marks set opposite their names the following officers to wit,
Hiram Ellwood received two hundred & eighty eight votes for Supervisor
Charles Kendall received two hundred & eighty votes for Town Clerk
Henry Hopkins received two hundred & eighty eight votes for Assessor
Eli B Gilbert received two hundred & eighty eight votes for Justice of the Peace
T. Richardson received one hundred & seventy three votes for Justice of the Peace
J. B. Stevens received two hundred & twenty seven votes for Com of Highway
C. E. Needham received one hundred & twenty nine votes for Com of Highway
M. H. Demmick received two hundred & thirty eight votes for Com of Highway
Lawrence Root received one hundred & twenty four votes for Com of Highway
J. H. Burghardt received two hundred & eighty five votes for Collector
J. H. Burghardt received two hundred & seventy eight votes for Constable
M. Lee Taylor received one hundred & thirty votes for Constable
R. A. McIntust received one hundred & forty six votes for Constable
David Price received two hundred & seventy eight votes for Overseer of the Poor
B. H. Fox received forty nine votes for Justice of the Peace
William Winship received seventy eight votes for Justice of the Peace
Wm. Hubbard received thirty four votes of com of Highway
On motion of committee of three be appointed to account for what purpose the money had been used that had been raised in 1856 and 1857. George Lyon, L. S. Hoyt and J.V. Randall appointed said committee on motion said committee were to report at the next annual town meeting. A motion was had & carried that horses should not roam at large, the following named persons were elected Overseers of Highway in their respective road district.
