Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 179, 1861

At an election held at the Eagle Hotel in the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois on the 2nd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty one.  The following named persons received the number of votes annexed to their respective names.  For the following described offices to wit.

Joseph Glidden received one hundred and eighty votes for Supervisor.

E. B. Gilbert received one hundred and forty one votes for Supervisor.

Harvey Thompson received three votes for Supervisor.

Thos. T. Roberts received one hundred and sixth seven votes for Town Clerk.

C. M. Simmons received one hundred and fifty seven votes for Town Clerk.

P. P. Jones received two votes for Town Clerk.

T. Townsand received one hundred and eighty five votes for Collector.

Jerome Root received one hundred and forty five votes for Collector.

John E. Page received two hundred and twenty one votes for an Assessor.

C. F. Overton received one hundred and thirty three votes for an Assessor.
