Z. Townsend Bond for Constable (1862) Filed in the town Clerk’s office April 3rd 1862
Whereas the undersigned Z. Townsend was on the 1st day of April A.D. 1862 duly elected a constable for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois and had accepted of said office and is about to enter upon the performance of the duties thereof
Now therefore, know all men by these present that we the said Z. Townsend as principal, and E. P. Young and R. H. Roberts & Bro. as his sureties jointly and severally agree to pay to each and every person who may be entitled thereto all such sums of money as the said constable may become liable to pay on account of any executions attachment or any other process for the collection of money by virtue of his said office and all such damages as each and every person or persons may sustain by reason of any malfeasance misfeasance or non-performance of duty on the part of said Constable.
Witness our hands and seals at DeKalb this 3rd day of April A.D. 1862.
