To Wm. Barber, Andrew Bradt, F. V. Farmer and N. W. Thompson
You will take noticed that the commissioners of highways of the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb have laid out a public highway agreeable to an order of said commissioners bearing date of October 1st 1862 a copy which is as follows, which highway passes through certain enclosed lands owned by you commencing at the south west corner of section (26) twenty six and the south east corner of section (27) twenty seven in township (40) forty, north range (4) four east of the third principal meridian running thence north on survey line to a point where said survey line intersects fourth street near the house of Newell Thompson in the village of DeKalb. Survey of said road to wit beginning at the corner of section 27.27.34.35 in town forty north of range four east of the third principal meridian and running thence north on the section line seventy nine chains eighty seven links to the corner of section 22.23.26.27 thence north on the section line six chains and ninety links to a stone at the intersection of a continuation of fourth street in the village of DeKalb thence north 22 degrees east seven chains sixty three links to the south line of south street in said village of DeKalb it being four rods wide and passing over lands owned or occupied by Wm. Barber, Andrew Bradt, F. V. Farmer and Newell Thompson. You are therefore hereby notified and requested to remove your fences from within the bounds of said highway within sixty days after the service of this notice.
