Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 359, 1867

At an election held at the Eagle Hotel in DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and state of Illinois on the 5th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven the following named persons received the number of votes annexed to their respective names for the following described offices to wit:

Richard Smith received one hundred and eighteen votes for County Treasurer

V. D. Miller received one hundred and nineteen (119) votes for Surveyor

Received one hundred and one (101) votes for keeping stock

Received six (6) votes against keeping stock
