At the annual Town Meeting held at Caslers Hall in the town of South Grove, county of DeKalb, State of Illinois, aton April sixth AD 1875, Stanton J. Shaver was chosen Moderator after being duly sworn by M. D. Patten, Clerk, entered upon the duties of his office.

The meeting proceeded to balloting untill [sic] the hour of two when the usual

Miscellaneous Business

Was taken up. Overseers of Highways was first elected for the several wards as follows

Motion. That we raise one hundred and fifty dollars $150.00 to defray the expences [sic] of the town Carried

Motion That we retain the use of this hall on the same terms & conditions as last year as offered by M. Casler. Carried

The polls were now reopened to read votes at six o’clock. The polls were declared closed.

The following is a statement of the result of the canvass for these votes by ballot for the election of officers as announced by the clerk to wit.
