At the annual town meeting held at Casler’s Hall in the town of South Grove, County of DeKalb and State of Illinois on the First day of April A. D. 1884.

E. L Becker after being sworn entered upon the duties of Moderator the Polls were then opened.

At 2:30 O’clock the miscellaneous business was taken up.

Town Clerks [sic] report read & approved

Motion That the remainder of Dog fund in hands of Supervisor be paid into Town fund for town expenses. Carried

Motion To raise Two hundred dollars for town expenses. Carried

The following is a statement of the results of the canvass of the ballots cast for the election of town officers as announced by the Clerk.

For Supervisor

James Byers Received Fifty four votes

For Town Clerk

John T. Byers Received Fifty four votes

For Assessor

E L Becker Received Fifty three votes

For Collector

F. M. Worden Received Fifty four votes

For Commissioner of Highways

William Gibson Received Fifty four votes

Samuel Newell to fill vacancy Rec’d Fifty four votes
