The following petition presented this to the commissioners of South Grove and Mayfield Townships

To the Joint Assembly of Highway Commissioners of the Towns of South Grove and Mayfield in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois.

The undersigned land owners residing in the above named towns within two miles of the route hereinafter mentioned and described for a road, do hereby petition you to lay out a new road of the width of Forty-Eight feet, as follows: Commencing at a point Eighty (80) rods South of and Forty (40) rods East of the Section corner common to 1 – 2 – 11 – and 12, in the Town of South Grove above mentioned, and running North and South known as the center Section line road of Section Number seven(7) of the Town of Mayfield to intersect said road at a point Eighty (80) rods South of the North section line of Section Number seven (7) in the said town of Mayfield.

The names of the owners of land over which same is to pass are: John Glawe, James Byers, Margaret B. Kirk and James Byers Jr.

Your petitions pray that you will proceed to lay out said road and cause the same to be opened according to law.
