Special Meeting of Commissioners of Highways for the Town of South Grove
The following petition presented to the Commissioners of Highways
(Copy of Petition) To the Commissioners of Highways of the Town of South Grove, being Township Forty-one (41) North, Range Three (3) East of the 3rd P. M. in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois:
The undersigned, land owners residing in the said Town of South Grove within two miles of the route hereinafter mentioned and described for a road do hereby petition you to lay out a new road of the width of forty feet as follows:
Commencing at the east line of Section 36 in said Township at a point One Hundred sixty rods north from from [sic] the South East Corner of said Section 36 and running thence west through the center of Section 36 and thence through the center of the East Half (1/2) of Section 35 to the middle of said Section 35 all in Township Forty-one (41), North, Range Three (3) East of the 3rd P. M. DeKalb County, Illinois, the center line of said road to be at a distance of one Hundred sixty (160) rods north of the south line of said Sections 25 and 36 in said Township.
The names of the owners of lands over which the said road is to pass so far as known to your petitioners are Frederick B. Townsend, George Ashelford, Anna Ashelford, Alta May Ashelford, Lydia Ashelford, Mabel Ashelford, Elizabeth Chapman, Robert Ashelford, Grover Ashelford, Harold A. Ashelford, Harriet M. Doan, Malcomb Doan, Carrie Willrett and Georgia Mae Wynn. The names of the owners of the following lands over which said [continued on next page.]
