At the annual town meeting the following is a statement of the result of the canvass of votes by ballot for the town of South Grove in the county of DeKalb State of Illinois A. D. 1865 as publicly canvassed by the presiding officer the said meeting.

Geo. A. Gillis had fifty one votes for Supervisor

S. S. Adee had fifty votes for town clerk

A. C. Thompson has forty nine votes for assessor

W. T. Adee has one vote for assessor

A. B. Stone had fifty votes for Collector

E. Wiltse had forty nine votes for Commissioner of Highways

H Christman has one vote for Commissioner of Highways

G. W. Wyllis had forty votes for Justice of Peace

P. S. Allen had forty five votes for Justice of Peace

George Miller had fifteen votes for Justice of Peace

George Hutchinson had forty votes for overseer of the Poor

Daniel Corey had one vote for overseer of the Poor

On Motion Voted there be one hundred dollars raised to pay town officers Carried

On Motion Voted of Mr. James Renwick the polls for the election of officers be closed at four c’clock P.M. Carried

Meeting adjourned without day
