Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 316, 1865

At a meeting of the Commissioners of Highway of the town of DeKalb held at the town Clerk’s office April 16th 65 three were present Wm. Fuller, George Clark, & Elias Hulett.  On motion Elias Hulett was chosen Treasurer ordered that all past Masers be notified by the town clerk to file in their acceptance and names of all persons in their district liable to road tax.

Commissioners ordered to assess two days poll tax and twenty cents on each one hundred dollars worth of real estate and personal property, liable to taxation in said town as valued on the assessment roll of the past year to be paid the ensuing year.

Let the contract to make out the poll tax list and land tax warrants for the ensuing year to town clker for ten dollars.

Estray Notice

Taken up by the subscribers living in the town of DeKalb county of DeKalb and state of Illinois the 13th day of May last, at his place of residence in DeKalb, one sorrel mare 3 years old, one bay mare 2 years old

1 live year old horse colt, white face, blind in one eye which I intent to have appraised according to statute in such case made and provided the same having broken into my enclosure.
