Town Records of DeKalb
To the Commissioner of Highways of the town of DeKalb in County of DeKalb and State of Illinois,
The undersigned having been employed by you to make a survey of the road running from near William Thompson, easterly would report that the following is a correct Survey there of as made by me under your direction to wit, Beginning at a Stone in the Center of the road leading from C Colton to DeKalb near the South West Corner of Said Thompsons orchard and running thence N 82° 22’ E of compass 17 chains 91 links to the garter Section line 2 Chains 84.8 links North of the garter Section former on the South line of Section 1 in town 40 N R 4 East thence Same Course 20 Chains to the west line of the road leading to Sycamore thence same course 19 Chains 41 links to the East line of Section 1 2 Chains 76 links North of the Corner of Section 1 and 12 Said road is 50 feet wide and that length is a correct plat of Said road according to Said Survey. Love on Section 12 in town 40 N, Range 4 East would report that the following is a correct Survey there of as made by me under your directions to wit: Beginning at a stone in the center of the road leading from C. Colton to DeKalb it being 2 chains 84 links North and 17 Chains 91 links So 2° 22’ W of Compass from the garter Section corner on the South line of Section 1 in the town 40 N R 4 East and running thence S 28° E 19 chains 96 Links thence S 12 ¼ ° E 26 Ch 57 L thence S 16 E 14 Chains S 5 ° E 6 Chains 91 L thence S 57° E 4 chains 24 links to F. Loves and the herewith is a correct plat of said road according to Said Survey Said road is laid four rods wide .
