Whereas Abial Richardson, Agrippa Dow & others did on the 12th day of June A. D. 1856 appeal to us from an order and determination of the commissioners of highway of the town of DeKalb in refusing to layout a new road and discontinue an old one to wit, commencing at a point in the center of the highway where it turns easterly near Abial Richardson’s barn running south (or nearly) to a point in the center of the state road leading from Sycamore to Grandetour [Grand Detour] thence south westerly to a point in said road near the house of William Hubbard a cross of which order as well as all persons in relation to said appeal being heretowit annexed and forming a part of this order and we having met at the house of Abial Richardson in said town on the 10th day of July 1866 to October A. D. to hear the proofs & allegations of the parties & whereas such hearing having been and in the premises & thence being fully advised therein to order and determine that the order and determination of the said commissioners be and is in all things reversed and that the prayer of the petitioners be granted and the said road be and the same is hereby laid out and established as follows beginning at a point in the center of Brush Point & DeKalb Centre road about Abial Richardson’s barn running south easterly according to a survey & plot which is hereunto annexed and made a part of this order which is hereby declared to be a publick [public] highway four rods wide.
