We do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the proceedings of a town meeting held at the house of Joseph F. Glidden in the town of DeKalb on the first day of April 1851.

We James Harrington and David F. Finley supervisors of the towns of Sycamore and Pampas having this day convened in pursuance of notice at the house of Calvin S. Colton and having heard the appeal of said Colton upon the road mentioned & described in the report of the commissioners of highways of the town DeKalb in the county of DeKalb hearing date January 31st 1851 and signed George W. Lyon & Abel D. Jordan as commissioners of highways for said town.  Now therefore we the said supervisors do declare that in our opinion & belief the report of said Coms is insufficient in this that there is a variance between the said report and the application for said road mentioned therein and we are furthermore of opinion that the road mentioned in said report is not conducive to the publick good and ought to be set aside Thomas M. Hopkins Supervisor of DeKalb was presented at the hearing above mentioned but dispensed from giving any opinion in the premises.

Record of road districts as laid off by the Commissioners

April 18th 1851

Road district No. 1 bounded as follows commencing east of town line on the Chicago and Gran Detour state road thence on said road westerly eighty rods west of section line between two and three on said road, also commencing north on town line on the Coltonville and Brush Point road thence southerly to the Chicago and Gran Detour state road.
