Record of Road on app of Wm Fuller & others 1851

Town Records of DeKalb Ill

The undersigned commissioners of highways for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb on petition of Wm. Fuller Sr. and others dated May 1st 1851, did on the 29th day of May inst. cause a survey to be made of the following route being the same mentioned in said petition which survey is as follows, beginning at a stake at the S. E. corner of section 21 & the N. E. corner of sec 28 in township 40 range 4 east in said county thence running south 83R W two miles and a half between sec 21 & 28 and 20 & 29 and 19 & 30 thence south 82 W 150 rods and 17 links to township 40 range 3 east to a stake thence S 83 R W on the survey line between sections 24 & 25 – 23 & 26 & 22 & 27 – 21 & 28 – 20 & 29 – and 19 & 30 to the west line of land last mentioned township being six miles.

And the undersigned being of opinion that it is necessary and proper that such road be laid out, it is therefore ordered that a road four rods wide be located and laid out and the same is located and laid out according to said survey and the same is hereby declared to be a publick highway.

Given under our hands and seals at DeKalb this 29th day of May 1851.

Survey of a highway laid out by the commissioners of highways of the town of DeKalb & county of DeKalb & state of Illinois to wit,

Beginning at the N. E. corner of sec 16 township forty (40) range four (4) E thence south 33 ½ degrees west on the survey line between sections 16 & 9 – 17 & 8 – and 18 & 7 – three miles to the W line of said township according to the above plat running across Roswell Browns Alcander Fays Stephen Baumgardners Clark L. Barbers William Blakes John Blakes and Joseph Richardsons lands the remainder names unknown.
