Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 202, 1862
The commissioners of the town of DeKalb met April 9th 1862 and Wm. Fuller was elected for two years and Benjamin Gurler was elected for three years.
Wm. Fuller was declared as the treasurer of the board of commissioners
The commissioners of the town of DeKalb met April 12th 1862.
Record of Road June 10th 1862
As a meeting of the commissioners of highways of the towns of DeKalb and Afton for the purpose of dividing and allotting the west-three miles of road between said town the following division and allotment was made, that portion of said road commencing at the N.E. corner of section four (4) in Afton, thence west on said road to stake & stone in the bend of the creek west of B. F. Gurler house is hereby allotted to the town of DeKalb and that part of said road west of said stake & stone is hereby allotted to the town of Afton, the bridge across the Kishwaukie creek is not divided and it is hereby agreed that each of said town shall pay one half of the expense of keeping said bridge in repairs.
