Bond of H. Thompson for Supervisor

Know all men by these present that we Harvey Thompson of the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois as principal and Timothy Richardson and E. B. Gilbert of said county and State as sureties are held and firmly bound unto the said town of DeKalb for the use of the inhabitants of said town in the sum of one thousand $1,000 dollars, for the payment of which well and truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators and each of them jointly, severally and firmly by these present sealed with our seals and dated this 23rd day of April A.S. 1863.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounded Harvey Thompson has been chosen Supervisor of the said town of DeKalb for the current year.  Now, therefore, if the said Harvey Thompson shall faithfully discharge all the duties of his said office required of him by laws, in relation to the town revenue then the above obligation to e void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
