The following law was then passed “Past Masters are directed to prosecute all persons plowing up the highway for the purpose of scouring plows.”
At a regular meeting held at the Eagle Hotel in the town of DeKalb county of DeKalb and state of Illinois on the 3rd day of April A.D. 1865. The following named persons received the number of votes annexed to their respective names for the following offices to wit
Joseph F. Glidden received 190 votes for Supervisor
Harvey Thompson received 170 votes for Supervisor
E. A. Penter received 217 votes for Town Clerk
Horace Griffith received 144 votes for Town Clerk
Ira Penny received 215 votes for Assessor
Henry Hopkins received 148 votes for Assessor
Norris Sweet received 190 votes for Collector
Smith D. Baldwin received 165 votes for Collector
Smith D .Baldwin received 171 votes for Constable
Albert Burch received 137 votes for Constable
Richard Roberts received 188 votes for Constable
Horace Scribner received 174 votes for Constable
Theodore Hatfield received 36 votes for Constable
Wm. Winship received 13 votes for Sealer of Weights & Measure
M. White received 4 votes for Sealer of Weights & Measure
Jesse Alden received 207 votes for Commissioner of Highways
Wm. Hamilton received 158 votes for Commissioner of Highways
E. B. Gilbert received 280 votes for Justice of the Peace
W. C. Tappan received 237 votes for Justice of the Peace
N. W. Thompson received 172 votes for Justice of the Peace
David Price received 177 votes for Overseer of the Poor
Wm. C. Tappan received 176 votes for Overseer of the Poor
We the undersigned Moderator and Clerks of this election do hereby certify that the above is a correct lists and results of the election of town offices at the town meeting held at the Eagle Hotel this 3rd day of April A.D. 1865.
