Norris Sweet filed his oath of office as Collector in my office this 4th day of April 1866.

Richard Roberts filed his oath of office as Constable in my office this 4th day of April 1866.  Also filed the following bond.

Whereas the undersigned Richard Roberts was on the 3rd day of April A.D. 1866, duly elected a constable for the town of DeKalb in the county  of DeKalb and state of Illinois and that the said Richard Roberts has accepted of aid office and is about to enter upon the performance of the duties thereof

Now therefore know all men by these presents that we the said Richard Roberts, principal and I. L. Ellwood as his security jointly and severally agree to pay to each and every person who may be entitled thereto all such sums of money as the said constable may become liable to pay on account of any execution which shall be delivered to him for collection by virtue of his office and all such damages as each and every person may sustain by reason of any malfeasance misfeasance on nonperformance of duty on the part of said constable.
