Whereas we the undersigned two of the fence viewers of said town of DeKalb having been chosen by A. W. Bartlett adjoining lands with C. S. Hunt in said town for the purpose of settling and deciding a dispute which has arisen between them concerning the operation of division fence to be made by each of them on the line between their said lands, the land of the said A. W. Bartlett being described as follows; the west half (1/2) of the S. East quarter of section nineteen (19) township forty (40) range (4) east of the third principal meridian and the land of C. S. Hunt being described as follows; the west half (1/2) of the north east quarter of section nineteen (19) township forth (40) range four (4) east of the third principal meridian and the said A. W. Bartlett having on the eighth (8th) day of December 1866 submitted the said batter in dispute to us for our settlement and division we did on the 8th day of Dec 1866 proceeded and examined the premises and the allegations of the parties. The line of the fence, running east and west length eighty (80) rods being a division line between the lands above described. The said A. W. Bartlett taking the east half (40 rods) C. S. Hunt the west ½ half it being forty (40) rods.
