The undersigned commissioners of highways for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb on the petition of Abial Richardson, Gustavus A. Colton, George Flinn, Wm. Hubbard, H. C. Shurburne, Arunah Clark, George W. Lyon, John Whiteman, Amos H. Barnes, Joseph Richardson, Orson Lyon, George Raynard, Jonathan Lyon, did on the 1st day of May inst. cause a survey to be made of the following route to wit; being the same route mentioned in said petition beginning said alteration on the north line of the town of DeKalb about 14 rods west of the Squaw Grove and Brush Point road in the centre of the lane running from Agripha Dows to the Abial Richardsons thence south 12 ° east 33 rods and 7 links to a point a little north of said Richardson barnyard bars thence south 55 ° east 55 rods to a point about one rod north of the north slough bridge on G. A. Coltons land in the centre of said road said alteration trapes through lands of said Richardson and a corner of said Coltons land and the undersigned being of opinion that it is necessary and proper that such alteration in said road be made it is therefore ordered that a road four rods wide be located and laid out and the same is located and laid out according to said survey and the same is hereby declared to be a publick highway and so much of the old road as is between the beginning and end of said alteration is hereby declared vacated.
