Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 342, 1867
Board of town auditors of the town of DeKalb met this 26th day of March A.D. 1867 at the office of E. B. Gilbert, Esq., present Joseph F. Glidden, supervisor of the town of DeKalb, E. A. Porter, town clerk, E. B. Gilbert and Wm. C. Tappan Esq., Justice of the Peace
The following bills were then audited and the clerk ordered to issue orders for the same.
Bill of J. Mattison for printing affidavits 2.00
Bill of E. A. Porter for services as town clerk 13.70
Bill of E. B. Gilbert 5.00
Bill of J. F. Glidden 10.00
Bill of W. C. Tappan 1.50
It was then voted unanimous that all moneys subscribed and paid September 19, 1864 for the purpose of raising 3 substitutes for the army, it being the quota of this town at that time be allowed back to each subscriber with interest and the clerk be ordered to issue orders for the same o be paid out of the taxes levied for that purpose to be collected for the year 1867 the orders to bear date of this day and draw interest at the rate of ten percent from the time the money was paid.
We the undersigned have this day audited the above bills and find them all correct.

An accordance with the above order I have this day issued the following town orders all of them will interest as 10 percent from September 19, 1867 according to wit.
