To the commissioner of highways of the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and state of Illinois.  We the undersigned legal voters residing within three miles of the road known as the Brush Point Road commencing at a point in the beatin tract of the travelled road running from Phineas Stevens to and westerly by Calvin S. Colton’s (the point is near said Colton’s house where the two roads intersect) thence northerly toward Jesse Alden’s house to a point or angle in said Brush Point road at or near Jesse Alden’s house do hereby petition you to alter or relocate said road or such portions thereof as may be necessary to make the Brush Point road between William Hubbard’s and Jesse Alden’s straight from Alden’s to Hubbard’s, and to lay out or relocate the same so as to be straight as follows commencing at a point in the angle of the said Brush Point Road at or near Jesse Alden’s in the town of DeKalb and running in a straight line from said angle in a southerly direction until said line intersects the Brush Point Road at or near William Hubbard’s and near the school house in District No. one in the town of DeKalb, the names of the owners of lands over which the same is to pass are Jesse Alden, Spafford Smith, Calvin S. Colton and William Hubbard, and your petitioners prat that you will proceed and alter or relocate said road accordingly.
