Poll Book For 1850 | Road Test No 3 1850

Town Records of DeKalb Ill 

William Hubbard appointed Overseer of highways of road district number seven commencing at the Gran Detour State road running southerly to intersect the road running on the east side of the Grove.

Roswell Brown appointed Overseer of highways of road district number eight commencing at John L. Harrisons running northerly to the school section thence easterly near the house of Henry B. Barbers.

Voted that the inhabitants of the town of Orange are not required to fence against sheep swine and calves and the owners of such may have a right to let them run at large provided the owners of such sheep swine and calves pay all damages done by them to any person for the first offence. For the second offence after being notified all damages and forfeit the animals.

Voted that bucks shall not run at large from the first day of July to the first day of November all damages done by them shall be paid by the owners of such bucks and the bucks forfeit.

Voted that thee next town meeting be held at the house of Joseph Glidden.

Certified under our hands and seals this second day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty that the above proceedings are correct.

Road district No. three

Commencing at the corner of roads at Wm. R. Thompsons thence running southerly via F. Loves to the town line near Thomas M. Hopkins including the road running easterly from the slough between F. Loves and Tho. M. Hopkins to the town line east also including the road running east from Wm. R. Thompsons to the town line east, also the road running west from F. Loves west to the center of the creek.
