Alanzo Comverse had for Supervisor fifty three (53) votes

We hereby certify that the above proceedings of a town meeting held at the house of Russel Huntley in DeKalb Centre on the 17th day of May 1853 is correct.

The undersigned commissioners of highway for the town of DeKalb in the County of DeKalb on the petition of David Price, Albert Ashcraft, J. Wilton, George J. Flinn, George Harrison, Timothy Richardson, J. M. Goodell, Robert Duffey, W. D. Earl, Smith Baldwin, A. H. Cartwright, Meiron H. Dimick, R. O. Peters, Basil Ruby, Henry Hopkins, P. W. Vaughn did on the 16th day of Sept A.D. 1853 cause a survey to be made of the following route to wit (being the same route mentioned in the said petition) beginning on the north and south road running by Wm. Planks & Henry Shaws & T. C. Wetmore at S.W. corner of sect 27 running east on sect line between lands owned by T. C. Wetmore, Russel Huntley & Meiron H. Dimick extending east as far as the centre of Shabony [Shabbona] Grove road, being a distance two hundred and thirty two rods & six links, and the undersigned being of opinion that it is necessary and proper that such a road should be made it is therefore ordered that a road four rods wide be located and laid out according to said survey and the same is hereby declared to be a publick [public] highway.
