Plan for new highway

Town Records of DeKalb Ill

We the undersigned commissioners of highway for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb state of Illinois on the petition of A. Gambel, Julius C. Pearl, Wm. Campbell and others for a publick highway to be located on the section line in township 39, North of range 4 east of the third principal meridian running north to the town plot of DeKalb Centre described as follows, beginning at the south west corner of section 14 in township 39 north range 4 east of the third principal meridian and running thence north on section line 72 chains 71 links to the corner of sections 10,11,14,15 thence north  on section line 79 chains 72 links to corner of section 2, 8, 10, 22 thence north on section line 79 chains and 68 links to corner of section 2 & 3 on the north line of said town thence east on said line 70 links to corner of section 34 & 35 in township 40 N R4E thence north on section line 79 chains 64 links to corner of section 34, 35, 26, 27 to be laid four rods wide and running over lands owned by Orson Pearl, John H. Foster, John Taylor, Samuel Larkin, John McNish, A. Gambell, Campbell & Helmer and Hugh Hollister and others not known to petitioners.

We hereby certify that we have reviewed and caused a survey to be made on the 29th day of May A.D. 1855 and the same is ordered and declared to be a public highway according to the above described route and the accompanying plot and survey.
