Town Records of DeKalb Ill

We the undersigned commissioners of highway for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb state of Illinois on the petition of Russel Huntley, John Goodel, Jas. Simonds and others for a public highway to be located as follows.

Beginning at the one eighth section corner on the south side of the SW quarter of section 26 in township 40 north of range 4 east of the 38 principal meridian and running thence north of the one eighth section line 78 chains 68 links to the one eighth section corner on the south side of the SW quarter of section 28 thence north on the one eighth section line 20 chains to the south line of the village of DeKalb to be four rods wide and tapsing over lands owned by High Holister, Joseph Brammer, Joel Simonds, Russel Huntley and other unknown. 

We hereby certify that we have reviewed and caused a survey to be made on the 29th day of May AD 1855 and the same is ordered and declared to be a public highway according to the above described route and the accompanying plot and survey.
