At a meeting of the Commissioners of Highways of the town of South Grove, County of DeKalb, State of Illinois at the town Clerks [sic] Office in said town on the 24th day of December A. D. 1891. At which meeting two of the said Commissioners being present namely Thomas Renwick and Samuel Mendle [?].
It was decided to meet at the residence of James Gibson in said town of South Grove on the 11th day January A. D. 1892 at the hour of 2 O’clock P. M. to examine the route of said road described in the foregoing petition and to hear reasons for or against the laying out of the same, and the town Clerk was ordered to post Five notices of said meeting in the most public places in said township in the vicinity of said road at least ten days before said Jan 11th 1892

At a Meeting of the Commissioners of Highways of the town of South Grove County of DeKalb, State of Illinois at the Residence of James Gibson in said town on the 11th day of January A D 1892 present – Thomas Renwick, Samuel Newell, Malcolm McMurchy. Said Commissioners examined the route of said as set forth in said petition and there being no reasons offered for or against the laying out of said road, and having ascertained and found that said five notices had been duly posted in compliance with the order of December 24th 1891 before set forth, It was by said Commissioners unanimously decided to grant the prayer of said petitioners and a brief memorandum of said decision was then and there endorsed on said petition, and they then and there publically announced said decision, and also at said meeting said Commissioners unanimously decided and ordered that S T Armstrong a competent Surveyor should make a survey on plat of such road
