Order of Commissioners of Highways to discontinue a Road.

Whereas upon the application in writing of Thomas Masterson, James Byers Junior, A. B. Byers, S. S. Adee, William T. Adee, George D.[?] Adee Jonathan Adee, T. D. Driscoll, James Byers, Thomas Masterson, Lawrence Masterson, Twelve legal voters residing within three miles of the road known as the Brown Road, a copy of which petition having been first duly posted up as required by law, We the Commissioners of Highways of said Town did on the seventh day of March A D 1868 personally examine the road proposed in said petition to be discontinued as follows. Commencing at the ¼ section corner on the section line between sections No. 9 and 10 and running thence east on the ¼ section line through section No. 10 over lands of William M Byers, A. B. Byers and Jessie [sic] Tindall until it intersects a road running North past the house of Jessie [sic] Tindall and having before determined to discontinue said road fixed upon a time and place when and where we would meet to hear any reasons for or against the discontinuing of the same and having caused written Notices thereof to be posted up in three of the most public places in said Town previous to the time of such meeting and having met at the time & place appointed for hearing such reasons and having heard such as were offered and being of the opinion that such discontinuing of said road is necessary and proper and that the public interest would be promoted thereby and having granted the prayer of said petitioners and determined to discontinue the said road It is therefore ordered & determined and the same is hereby declared to be discontinued.
