Petition to lay a new Road

To the commissioners of highways of the town of South Grove in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois

We the undersigned legal voters residing within three miles of the route hereinafter mentioned for a road do hereby petition to you to lay out a new road of the width of four rods as follows commencing on the town line on the west side of the town on the Section line between nineteen and thirty one in said town and running thence east over Lands of Andrew Jackson and AgustusDetmer [Dettmer?] to the north and South road on the same Sections Eighty rods more or less

And your Petitioners pray that you will proceed to lay out said road and cause the same to be opened according to law
