Whereas upon application in Writing of J. F Schee [Schnee] Thos. Schnee James Richards J. W. Swain Geo. J. Detmer [Dettmer] Wilyam [William?] DettmerAdison Blackmer W. L. Rand W. Rand C W Moon John H Wiltse Daniel Welty C. W. Dettmer Ely Wiltse H Vansee twelve legal Voters residing within three miles of the Route hereinafter mentioned Described for a public road a copy of this petition having been first Duly posted up as required by law. We the commissioners of High Ways did of said town did on the 1st day of June A. D. 1868 personaly [sic]examine the proposed route in said petition for a road to Wit beginning at the Section corner between Sections 19 & 30 thence East on same eighty rods to the North & South road on same Section and having before Determined to lay out said road fixed upon a time & place when & where we would meet to hear any reason that that [sic] might be offered for or against the laying out of Same & having and having caused written notices thereof to be posted up in three of the most public places in the town eight days before the time of such meeting and having met at the time and place appointed for hearing such reasons and having heard such as were offered, and being of the opinion that such laying out was necessary and that the public interest would be promoted thereby and having granted the prayers of said petitioners and determined to lay out said road we did on the 26th day A. D. 1868 cause a Survey thereof to be made by a competant [sic]Surveyor as follows

To the commissioners of the town of South Grove T 41 N. R. 3.E. of 3rd P. M. the undersigned having been employed by you to make Survey of a road beginning at the Section corner between Sections 19 & 30 thence east on same 80 rods to the N.
