Whereas upon the application of twelve Legal Votes residing within three miles of the route hereinafter described for a public Highway a copy of the petition having been duly posted as required by Law. We the Com. Of Highways of Said Town did on the Second & third days of July AD 1857 cause a Survey to be made by a competent Surveyor of the following route To Wit..

Beginning at the quarter post on the E. L. of S. 25 and running thence W 7 15 E on the ¼ S. L. 80.[?] to the quarter P on the W L. Center Post ½ Way and in line stone ¼ 18.18.12 thence W on the ¼ S. L. [?] 6 45 E. 80.47 to the ¼ P on the W. l. of S26 Center P of stone ¼ 18.18.12. thence W through S 25 on the ¼ S. L. [?] 7 E 80.24 to the 1/4 P on the W L. Center P. Stone ¼ 24.15.10 thence west through S 29 on the ¼ S L V 6.15 E. 80.33 to ¼ P. on the W L. Stone ¼ 20.10.9 Center P Stone 1/4 . 15.12.9 thence W through S 30 [?] 6 20 East 61.36 to the ¼ P. on the W L. Stone ¼ 20.11.9 Center P Stone ¼ 16.10.10 Whole distance 462.80 = 5 M. 62. C.. 80 L = 5 M. 62c. 80L. being the same as mentioned and set forth in said petition which survey is according to the annexed Plat.. And the said Commissioners having personaly [personally] examined said route & having heard such reasons as were offered. For and against laying out said road & being of oppinion [opinion] that the laying out of the Same is necessary and proper. & that the public interest will be promoted thereby: it is ordered & determined that a road be, & the same is hereby layed [laid] out& established four rods wide. According to the Said Survey & plat is hereunto annexed & made part of this order which is hereby declared a public highway the above described line be the Center thereof.
