At the annual Town Meeting held at the “West Prairie” School House. Dist (District) No 2. April 6th 1858. Town & County aforesaid. James Byers was elected Moderator & duly sworn by the Justice

The meeting then proceeded to balloting until 2 o.clock[o’clock] when the usual

Motion that there be $50 raised to purchase plank for bridges Withdrawn

Motion that the Town expend $50 to improve the Roads in Dist No 6 Lost

Motion that the By Laws remain unaltered Carried

Motion that all fines and penalties arising from the violation of Town Laws shall be expended upon roads & Bridges Carried

Motion that there be two Pounds Erected one in the East & one in the west part of town Carried

Motion that James Byers Jun. [Jr.] be Pound Master for the East Pound Carried

Motion that P. Waterman be Pound Master for the West Pound Carried

Motion that $70 be raised to defray the Current Expenses of the Coming Year Carried

The meeting then resumed the balloting for town officers. after the close of which the following result was announced
