Be it remembered that on the 30th day of July in the year of our lord [Lord] one thousand Eight hundred & fifty Eight at South Grove aforesaid; We the Com. [Commissioners] of Highways for Said township, assembled for the purpose of taking into Consideration a certain memorial made unto us by Peter M. Deyoe, a legal inhabitant of said town, to lay out a private Road through the lands of Abraham Thomas and the Said Peter M. Deyoe, the same to be two rods wide and having obtained the Sanction & approval of both parties& procured the “Plat” & delineation of the Said road from a Competent Surveyor which specifies that the said road shall commence at the Section Corner between Sections 4 & 5 on the North line of Said town. Thence to run South through the lands owned by Abraham Thomas lying on the west side of the Section line bisecting Section 4 & 5 to the bounds of said Abraham Thomas’ land, thence continuing South through the land of Peter M Deyoe lying West of said Sec line & terminating at the South-East Corner of the North half of the S. E. quarter of Sec. 5;; We therefore conformable to the Statute in that Case made & provided do hereby ratify confirm & establish the Said road to be two rods wide. To be used as a private road according to the true intent & measuring thereof for ingress & egress to & from the lands of the parties herein named, without hinderance [hindrance] or denial, actions at law or such for trespass.
