Annual Auditing Meeting               Sept 7, 1926

The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at the office of the Town Clerk.  Those present were W. G. McKenzie Supervisor:  Frank Barnes Town Clerk:  Geo. Barnes, Highway Comm :  Maurice Casey Thistle Comm:  Wm. Mason, Justice of Peace:  Geo. Quinn, Assessor:

All bills presented were ordered paid.

To the board of Supervisors of DeKalb Co. Ill

“The undersigned, Highway Comm of the Town of South Grove, Co and State aforesaid hereby Certifies that at a regular meeting of said Comm. held on the 1st Tues of Sept in the Year A. D. 1926; to wit: on the 7 day of Sept. A. D. 1926, at the office of the Town Clerk, for the purpose of determining the tax rate for Road + Bridge purposes to be certified by him to the Co Board as provided by law, has determined that the rate of tax necessary to be levied upon all the taxable property of said Town of South Grove for the proper construction, maintenance and repair of roads and bridges, the purchase and repair of machinery, the oiling of roads, and the prevention and extirpation of weeds, shall be @ (50ȼ) Fifty Cents on each One Hundred Dollars valuation as assessed and equalized for the Year A. D. 1926.

For The:

Construction of Roads $2350.00

maintenance of roads $1200.00

construction of bridges $700.00

maintenance of bridges $250.00

purchase of machinery $250.00

repairs to machinery $250.00

Total: $5000.00

Thus making the total amount necessary to be raised by taxation for the proper construction, maintenance + repair of roads + bridges , purchase and repairs of machinery in the Town for said year Five Thousand Dollars, and it is hereby directed that the said amt of money, or as much or such part thereof as may be approved by the Co Board of said DeKalb Co, be and the same is hereby levied for road and bridge Taxes against all the taxable property of said Town for the Year A. D. 1926, Witness my hand this 1st Tues in Sept A. D. 1926, the same being the 7th day of said mo.  Geo. Barnes, Highway Comm.”
