Fall Auditing Meeting, Sept. 1, 1931

The meeting was called to order by the Supervisor at the Esmond State Bank. Present were W. G. McKenzie Supervisor. Frank Barnes Town Clerk. Delos Welty Assessor. F. N. Goelitz Comm. of Highways and Maurice Casey, Thistle Comm. All bills presented was (sic) ordered paid. The Highway Commissioner F. N. Goelitz certifies that the rate of tax necessary to be levied upon all the tangible property of South Grove Twshp [Township] for Road + Bridge purposes shall be (25¢) twentyfive (sic) cents on each One Hundred Dollars valuation as assessed + equalized for the year A. D. 1931.

He further certified that at this meeting he determined that the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation for the purpose of construction, maintenance and repair of roads + bridges of South Grove township for the yr. A. D. 1931 is Five Thousand, (5000.00) (sic) Dollars, and it is hereby directed that the said amt. of money, or so much or such part thereof as may be approved by the County board of DeKalb Co. be and the same is hereby levied for Road + Bridge Taxes against all the taxable property of South Grovetwshp [township] for the yr. A. D. 1931. He determined + stated separately the several am’ts [amounts] levied for the following purposes, to wit:

Construction of Roads $1400.00

Maintenance “ “ 1400.00

Construction of Bridges $ 500.00

Maintenance “ “ $ 100.00

Purchase of Machinery 1000.00

Repairs “ “ 400.00

Prevention + extirpation of Weeds 200.00

Total 5000.00
