Annual Town Meeting April 5, 1938

The town Meeting was called to order at the Town Hall at 2:00 P. M. by C. G. McKenzie. Delos Welty was chosen Moderator. The Supervisor’s report and the highway Commissioner’s report were each read and approved. A motion was made by C. G. McKenzie and seconded by F. N. Goelitz that the Township Tax be raised to the required amount. The necessary amount of tax required was $2800 to be proportioned as follows:Contingent expenses incurred for the use and benefit of the town. Election expenses $25.00; Fees and compensation of town officers $1425.00; Thistle Commissioner $150.00; Repairs on hall $50.00; Relief and support of poor $1,150.00. Motion made + carried to adjourn.

Fall Auditing Meeting Sept. 6, 1938

The meeting was called to order at the residence of the Town Clerk at 8:00 P. M. by the Supervisor, C. G. McKenzie. Also present were F. H. McQueen, Town Clerk, F. N. Goelitz Highway Commissioner, L. A. Totman, Delos Welty and Clarence Worden. All bills presented were paid as follows: C. G. McKenzie $15.10; Delos Welty $247.00; Clarence Worden $148.00; F. N. Goelitz $594.00; L. A. Totman $3.00, F. H. McQueen $25.00.

The Commissioner of Highways of said Town appeared before the said Board of Auditors and requested the consent in writing of said auditors to levy a greater rate of taxation for Road and Bridge purposes for the year 1939 than twenty-five cents on each $100.00 valuation of the property of said Town, and for the determination of the amount of such greater rate of taxation. After considering said request, it was moved by Mr. Totman and seconded by Mr. McKenzie, that said board of Auditors consent to said commissioner levying an additional rate of three cents of each $100.00valuation in addition to 25¢,
