To the Comrs of Highways of the Townships of Mayfield, So Grove, DeKalb, & Malta of the County of DeKalb & State of Illinois. The undersigned landowners residing in the said Townships of So Grove, Mayfield, DeKalb & Malta, within two miles of the Route hereinafter mentioned and described for a road do hereby petition to you to lay out a new road of the width of sixty feet as follows:
Commencing at or near the one-fourth section corner on east line of Section 36 Township 41, North Range 3, east of the 3rd Principal Meridian in the county of DeKalb and state aforesaid and running south along the range between the Townships of So Grove and Malta on the west one-fourth section corner on east line of section one (1) Township Forty 40, North Range three, 3 east of the 3rd Principal Meridian situated in the County of DeKalb, and the state of Illinois and for the distance of about one mile and being the most eligible route to intersect the road at or near the premises of E. R. Zellar.
The names of the owners of the land over which the said road is to pass are Abram Ashelford, who owns the fractional southwest ¼ of section 31, Township 41, N.R. 4 East of the 3rd P.M. also the Southwest one-fourth of section 36, Township 41, N.R.3 of the 3rd P.M.
ER Zellar owns the fractional northwest one-fourth of section 6, Township 40, N.R. 4 East of the 3rd P.M.
Mert Redmond owns the northwest one-fourth of section one (1) Township Forty (40) north Range 3, East of the 3rd P.M.
All of the above describe land situated in the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois.
And (?) petitioners pray that you will proceed to lay out the said road according to law. Dated this 23rd day of Nov A.D. 1904.
