Application of Eli Barnes

To the road commissioners of the town of DeKalb you are hereby requested to review and relocate that part of the Chicago and Gran Detour and Chicago and Dixon state roads which lies between where said Chicago and Gran Detour and Chicago and Dixon state roads crosses that township and town line which divides the town of Pampas and the town of DeKalb and at the point at Coltonville where the Chicago and Gran Detour and the Chicago and Dixon state roads runs west between Wm. Hubbards and Calvin S. Coltons on to the prairie, the said commissioners will please to meet on Monday 13th day of January for the purpose of connecting the review with the road commissioners of the towns of Sycamore and Pampas from David P. Walradts in the town of Sycamore to Coltonville in the town of DeKalb.

Determination of commissioners of highways for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb on application of Eli Barnes a person liable to be assessed for highway labor in said town did on the 14th day of January 1851 (in conjunction with the road commissioners of the towns of Sycamore and Pampas of the county aforesaid) view that route mentioned in said application and after hearing the reason and objections of the parties interested for and against such alteration have determined not to make the alteration mentioned in said application.  Given under our hands and seals at DeKalb this 13th day February 1851

Record of the review of the Shabony Grove road the undersigned commissioners of highways for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb did on the 20th and 21st day of Dec 1850 and the 21 day of March inst. (no application being made) cause a survey to be made of the following route to wit; commencing bearing S.46° E. 6 rods, 23L from the south east corner of Fredrick Loves, now dwelling house, thence 48°.
