Whereas upon the application of Christopher Love, S. R. Hyslop, J. A. Hayden, L. Hilmer, John Hiland, Joseph Hiland, J. V. Randall, C. L. Barber, D. C. Scribner, W. D. Earl and others twelve legal voters residing within three miles of the route herein after described for a public highway a copy of their petition having been duly posted as required by law we the commissioners of highways of said town did on the 22nd day of September A.S. 1857 cause a survey to be made by a competent surveyor of the following route to wit: commencing at the south west corner of sect twenty six (26) and the south east corner of sect twenty seven (27) and thence running north on section line or as near thereto as the said commissioners in their judgement deem best and on the most direct and eligible route to at or near the limits of the Village Corporation of said DeKalb intersect the street or road leading past the Methodist meeting house being the same as  and set forth in said petition which survey is according to the annexed plot and the said commissioners having formerly examined said route and having heard such reason as were offered for and against laying out said and being of the opinion that the laying out of the same is necessary and proper and that the public interest will be formed thereby it is ordered and determined that a route be and the same is hereby layed out and established as follows to wit commencing at the south west corner of sec (26) and the south east corner of sect 27
