The board of commissioners met at the town clerk office April 10th 1866, There were present
Wm. Fuller, E. B. Hulet and Jesse Alden
Jesse Alden files his oath of office
It was voted that E. B. Hulet be the Treasurer for the current year and the following order was then passes by them
State of Illinois, County of DeKalb, Town of DeKalb
At a meeting of the commissioners of highways of said town of DeKalb held at the town clerk’s office in said town on the 10th day of April A.D. 1866 the said commissioners having proceeded to ascertain estimate and assess the highway and road tax to be performed and paid in said town the ensuing year do estimate and assess two days highway labor to each and every male inhabitant in said town liable to be assessed for highway labor to be performed in said town the ensuing year and we do assess a road tax of twenty cents on each one hundred dollars’ worth of real estate and personal property liable to taxation of said town, as valued on the assessment roll of the past year to be paid in said town the ensuing year.
