April 5th 1867, This day filed Oath of Office for Lucian Burr for Commissioner of Highways.
April 6th 1867, Filed the Oath of Office of A. H. Cartwright for the office of Town Constable.
Filed same date as above the bond of A. H. Cartwright as follows
Whereas the undersigned Alva H. Cartwright was on the 2nd day of April A.D. 1867 was duly elected a Constable for the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and state of Illinois and that the said A. H. Cartwright has accepted of said office and is about to enter upon the performance of the duties thereof
Now therefore know all men y these present that we the said Alva H. Cartwright as principal and Isaac L. Ellwood as his security jointly and severally agree to pay to each and every person who may be entitled thereto all such sums of money as the said Constable may become liable to pay on account of any execution which shall be delivered to him for collection by virtue of his office and all such damages as each and every person may sustain by reason of any malfeasance, misfeasance on non-performance of duty on the part of said constable.
