Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 353, 1867

April 9th 1867, received and filed the bond of J. F. Glidden as follows

Know all men by these present that we J. F. Glidden of the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and State of Illinois as principal and Hiram Ellwood of the county and state as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the said town of DeKalb for the use of the Inhabitants of said town in the sum of two thousand dollars for the payment of which well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves our heirs executions and administrators and each of them jointly, severally and firmly by these present sealed with our seals and dated this 9th day of April A.D. 1867

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounded J. F. Glidden has been chosen Supervisor of the said town of DeKalb for the current year.  Now therefore if the said J. f. Glidden shall faithfully discharge all the duties of his office required of him by law in relation to the town revenue, then the above obligation to be void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
