Town Records of DeKalb Ill page 367, 1867

Of said N.E. ¼ 20.00 of the east and west passing through the said section four (4).  The said commissioners having personally examined said route and being of the opinion that the laying out of the said road is necessary and proper and that the public interest will be promoted thereby it is ordered and determined that the above described route as described by the survey plat accompanying this, is hereby declared to be a public highway four (4) rods wide, the above described line being the centre thereof.

I, V. D. Miller county surveyor in and for said county do hereby certify that I did survey for the commissioners of highway of the town of DeKalb be3ginning at road running west on section four and run north to the town line of DeKalb Ills to intersect the road recently laid out by the town of Mayfield, would upon that the following is a correct survey thereof as made by me under your direction to wit. Beginning at the centre of the north line of the N.E. ¼ of section (4) four at stone 11.8.6+ twenty seven links west of stone place in centre of Mayfield road thence S (V6.20E) on line between the E & W one half of said N.E.1/4 10.00 to the E and W road passing through said section four (4) and herewith is correct plat of said road according to said survey.
