Whereas a road was laid out on the 23rd day of Nov A.D. 1867 by E. B. Hulet and Jesse Alden and Lucian Burr Commissioners of Highways of the town of DeKalb in the county of DeKalb and state of Illinois on the applications of the requisite number of legal voters residing within three miles of said road as follows, commencing at a road running west of section four (4) and run north to the town line of DeKalb Ills to intersect the road recently laid out by the town of Mayfield would upon that the following is a correct survey made by the Co. Surveyor under our direction to wit, beginning at the centre of the north line of the N.E. ¼ of section four (4) at stone 11.8u.6+ twenty seven links west of stone place in centre of Mayfield road thence S(V6.20E) on line between the E and W one half of said N.E. ¼ 20.00 to the E and W road passing through said section four (4), which road passes through certain lands owned by me being known and described as follows viz running through lands belonging to Maltby Hoyt. The said road is to be opened by the said Matltby
