The amount apportioned liquidated and agreed upon between the said commissioners and Wm. and Maltby Hoyt shall be “one hundred and twenty five ($125) dollars for damages sustained to the said “Hoyt’s” by the laying out of the above described road through their lands.

Now therefore know all men by these present that we Maltby Hoyt and Wm. Hoyt for value received do hereby release all claims to damages sustained by us by reason of laying out and opening said road through our lands above described.  In witness we have hereunto set our hands and seals this 7th day of December A.D. 1867.

At  a special meeting of the board of auditors of the town of DeKalb county of DeKalb and state of Illinois, there were present, J. F. Glidden Esq. Supervisor, E. B Gilbert Esq. and Wm. C. Tappan Esq., Justices of the Peach and E. A. Porter, Town Clerk

The bill of C. S. Colton for $150 for damages sustained by him in losing a horse through a defective bridge was brot before the board for settlement, it having laid over from the last meeting of the board in order to get counsel on the case.

Upon getting at the true acts of the case we the undersigned are of the opinion that the said C. S. Colton is entitled to receive one hundred and ten dollars with interest at ten per cent from 1st Aug 1867 to be paid from taxes assessed in the year 1868 and we do hereby audit the said sum to be awarded to him as damages for the loss of his horse and direct the town clerk to draw an order on the town for that amount.
