Order for highway alternation

Town Records of DeKalb Ill

The undersigned commissioners of highway for the town of DeKalb and the county of DeKalb on the petition of Wm. Barber, James Duffey, Timothy Richardson, James Cartwright, John E. Page, John Cleghorn, Albert Hatfield, Lewis C. Wilmarth, P. W. Vaughn, W. D. Earl, Nathan Bathrick, W. H Dimick, E. Rosebrook, A. H. Cartwright, J. W. Gleason, Wm. R. Campbell, John Goodell, Wm. C. Wilcox, did on the 28th day of March 1853 cause a survey to be made of the following route to wit (being the same route on said petition) beginning said alteration at the quarter section corner on the centre of the east line of section twenty eight (28) township forty (40) range four (4) east thence running south on the said survey line half a mile to the survey line between sections 34 & 27 – 35 & 26 – 36 & 25 to the east line of the town of DeKalb thence north on survey line between section 25 in DeKalb and SE in the town of Pampas 181 rods the undersigned being of opinion that It is necessary and proper that such alteration in said road be made it is therefore ordered that a road four rods wide be located and laid out and the same is located and laid out according to said survey and the same is hereby declared to be a publick [public] highway and so much of the old survey of a road as lies between the beginning and end of said alteration is hereby declared vacated.
