August 10th 1850

We, James Harrington, Tho. M. Hopkins & David F. Finley supervisors of the town of Sycamore, Orange, and Richland having this day convened in pursuance of notice at the house of Calvin S. Colton and having heard the appeal of said Colton upon so much of the road laid out by order of the Commissioners of highways of the town of Orange on the 3rd day of June now last past, as is therein mentioned to wit from a point in the centre  of said road due east from the centre of George Flinn’s new dwelling house & the northerly termination of said new road, and having heard the proof and allegations of the parties, and inspected the papers, therein, are of the opinion and do therefore decide that the report of the said commissioners is uncertain and insufficient touching the matter of said road and ought to be overruled

The undersigned commissioners of highways for the town of Orange in the county of DeKalb on the application of T. C. Wetmore, a person liable to be assessed for highway labor in said town did on the third day of July inst. Cause a survey to be made of the following route to wit; commencing on the west line of said town of Orange at the centre of the west line of section (30) township (40) range (4) east of the third principal meridian, thence in an easterly course to the east line of said town of Orange as near said half section line as good ground will admit of being the same route mentioned in the application of the said T. C. Wetmore, and which survey is as follows to wit, commencing at the west line of the county at the centre of the west line of section thirty (30) township forty (40) range three (3) east of the 3rd principal meridian running east by survey line nine miles
