Plan for new highways

Highway Commissioners order for a road where as a petition has been presented to us the undersigned commissioners of highways by Wm. A. Lindsey, Elisha E. Lindsay, Clark Barber and others paying for the alteration of a part of a certain road and relocate the same as follows to wit, to alter the west end of a road said road to be altered across west ½ of the SE ¼ of section 10 township 40 range 4 belonging to the widow Whitemore and the SW ¼ of section 10 township 40 range 4 belonging Wm. A. and E. E. Lindsey, Therefore we the undersigned commissioners of highway for the town of DeKalb of the County of DeKalb and State of Illinois do hereby certify that we have duly viewed and caused a survey to be made and the same to be plotted according to law and do declare and order the same to be a public highway four rods wide as for the notice of the survey and the accompanying plot and also that the part of the old road as lays south of the new road of which the new part is an alteration is hereby ordered and declared void and vacated.

By order of the commissioners of the town of DeKalb county of DeKalb state of Illinois have surveyed a road as follows to wit beginning at a point on the section line 8 chains 30 links north from the corner of sections 9, 10, 13 in town 40N R4E of the 3rd principal meridian and running thence east 66 chains to stakes at mouth of lane near the dwelling house of Mrs. Whiteman said road is laid four rods wide and passes over lands owned by Mrs. Whitmore and Wm. A. and Elisher E. Lindsay.
